Sharron Davies - Academic Venue Show

Meet Sharron Davies at the Academic Venue Show
March 2016

Olympic medal-winning guest speaker to share her ‘winning combinations’

We're delighted to announce Olympic medallist and TV personality Sharron Davies MBE will be the special guest speaker at the 2016 Academic Venue Show (AVS).

Davies will share her experiences of how ‘winning combinations’ – the theme of this year’s show – can elevate achievements in sport and business, including events, to the next level.

“Sharron is an inspirational public speaker who has reached the pinnacle of sport and TV,” said Terry Billingham, CEO at Venuemasters. “At this year’s AVS, we’re showing visitors how their events and our venues make a winning combination. Having succeeded in two tough industries through talent and hard work, Sharron has brilliant stories and knowledge to share.”

Davies will also meet with AVS visitors after her presentation to answer questions and sign autographs.

The Academic Venue Show takes place on 11 May at the historic Royal Horticultural Halls in Westminster, London. It’s the UK’s only one-day event dedicated to showcasing the quality and value of academic venues. The show is free to attend. Also at this year’s AVS, event organisers can discover and meet with venues from over 30 different locations, take advantage of exclusive rates and offers, and network with hundreds of events industry colleagues.

Feedback from past events shows visitors’ events and AVS venues are a perfect match. 94% of visitors to the 2015 exhibition found the show useful. Event organiser Rita Grudzien of the Attingham Trust said: “2015 was my first show and I found it incredibly interesting and useful and fun - will definitely be back next year!”

Visitors who register early will also be entered into a prize draw to win a Kindle Fire tablet. Event organisers can register their free place now at www.academicvenueshow.co.uk.
