EASTERBROOK HALL HOSTS WORLD CONFERENCE |

South West Scotland’s premier conference venue Easterbrook Hall will host the World Mountain Bike Conference on Sustainability in 2008 – the first time the event will be held outside Canada.
The Dumfries venue won the bid against stiff international competition by proving it had the facilities, the space, the adjacent accommodation and the in-house technology to cater for 450 delegates from around the globe.
The recent £2million refurbishment of the art deco hall, its location on the 100 acre parkland Crichton estate and South West Scotland’s 400km of mountain bike trails convinced the organisers to choose Easterbrook.
The Conference is expected to bring around £1.3 million to the local economy. Easterbrook is an ideal location for residential conferences. As well as the attractive grounds of the Crichton estate, there is a 71-room Aston Hotel within a short walk of the venue. The hotel has king-sized beds in all bedrooms and free Wi-fi access 24 hours.
Easterbrook Hall can cater for 10 - 500 conference delegates and is equally happy with 1000. Lush carpeted rooms, subtle lighting, comfortable furniture and plenty of flexible break out spaces, together with a menu of lighting options, excellent sound systems, plasma screens and LCD displays.
All delegates have access to the internet via a secure Wi-fi web interface and there is also an induction loop to help those with hearing difficulties. Wheelchair access has been included in the spec. and rooms can be transformed from banqueting to conferencing in minutes.
