The Commercial Services (Conferences & Catering) team at the University of Reading has recently achieved the Investors in People Standard.
The Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through its people. Developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and national organisations, the Standard helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people.
Colin Robbins, Director of Estates and Facilities Management at the University commented; ‘This achievement is a huge credit to the whole team. The values and principles have been developed in consultation with all members of the team.'
Colin continued; 'I believe it has been a dual process. I am sure that staff have benefited from the development of the value of individuals, through improved management procedures, but the department has also become more efficient and more effective through a greater sense of involvement by all staff in both the process and the delivery of the service.’
