|The Manchester Conference Centre is once again leading the way in Manchester, on the technology front.
Customers of the Manchester Conference Centre, Manchester’s only purpose built residential conference venue, are being offered the latest wireless Internet access in their latest technology drive.
Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) - enabled devices (laptops or PDAs) can send and receive data wirelessly from any location within the Centre’s Weston Building. Clients can surf the net without wires. This system replaces the previous Bluetooth system as the one that is most compatible with equipment globally.
Lee Stott, IT manager at the MCC says: “The introduction of this system means that MCC guests can quickly check e-mails or browse the Internet without the use of clumsy wires whilst having a coffee in the lounge. It’s easy, it’s really fast – Up to 20 times faster than dial-up modems, it’s good value – rates of only £5 per 24 hours, it’s convenient – Use your own laptop in the bar, lounge or theatre. Although our hotel bedrooms already feature Internet access, Wi-Fi is even available there.”
