The expanding conference team at Edinburgh First reflects the growing level of interest in the University of Edinburgh as a conference venue for corporate business, associations and groups. Edinburgh First’s venue portfolio comprises a unique range of buildings, from 18th century mansion houses, to modern, purpose-built meeting rooms. South Hall, the largest meeting room on the Pollock Hall site is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment. Available all year round this large, flat-floored, multi-purpose hall is able to accommodate up to 450 people for meetings, 300 for dining and 500 for receptions. The refurbishment includes complete re-decoration and new soft furnishings, full blackout facilities, the installation of thematic lighting, a sprung dance-floor and state-of-the-art kitchen facilities. Part of the Holland Complex, South Hall is supported by a large breakout area, capable of accommodating 160 theatre style and an ideal space for exhibitions, poster displays and catering plus three meeting rooms accommodating up to 30 each. A Green Room for speakers and members of the press is also available.
South Hall will be available for events at the end of June 2004; bookings are being taken now.
