The Association for Science Education brought their annual meeting to The University of Reading this year. Science educators came from over 50 countries to take part.
With over 2000 delegates a day, a huge marquee was drafted in especially and situated next to the Palmer building to provide a venue for an impressive exhibition of resources available to science teachers. The meeting boasted over 300 talks and workshops aimed at addressing issues that science teachers and educators face. With special guests and speakers the meeting was proving to be a great success with highlights such as a live interview given by Sir Patrick Moore and the Big Bug Man.
Many delegates and members of the organising committee commented on the friendliness and helpfulness of all the University staff that they came into contact with, which contributed to making this event one of the most successful ever. In fact such was the success of the event that The Chair of the Association accepted The Vice Chancellor’s invitation to return to the University in January 2006!
