MANCHESTER CONFERENCE CENTRE GROWS WITH CHANCELLORS

The Manchester Conference Centre’s facilities are set for considerable expansion this October, when they join forces with Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre, a stunning Georgian Mansion situated in extensive, secluded grounds, and yet only 3 miles from Manchester City centre.

This development comes as a result of the merger between UMIST and the Victoria University of Manchester - which operates Chancellors - taking place in October and bringing together the conference facilities of both universities under a new name, The University of Manchester.

Chancellors will be marketed together with the Manchester Conference Centre, adding new opportunities for conference organisers through the contrast of its semi-rural ambience with MCC’s city centre site.

Apart from offering an ideal venue for conferences, meetings, and training events, Chancellors is also popular for wedding receptions, private functions and speciality dining.

Richard Handscombe, Sales and Marketing Manager at the Manchester Conference Centre said:

“We are delighted that Chancellors is joining our portfolio. This merger is very exciting for us and will see us become the leading academic conference venue in the North West. And in Chancellors, we now have something extra to offer our clients who may be looking for something a bit different, a bit special.”

A new 1,000-seater auditorium is also in the planning to complement the existing campus conference facilities, scheduled for opening in summer 2007.

And with so much choice on offer, The University of Manchester has all the facilities that any conference organiser would require.
