SHACKLETON APARTMENTS ON THE LAKESIDE, UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM


Situated in landscaped grounds of the Vale, in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, the newly refurbished apartments at Shackleton will be open to the public*, for the first time in 2006. The accommodation which is self-catering is ideal for singles or couples and comprises the following:

· Self-contained apartments with single and double beds; · Bathroom, modern kitchen equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker and basic utensils such as pots, pans, crockery and cutlery; · Lounge area with superb view of the Vale, lakeside wildlife walks around the Vale and a canal walk (from University to City); · Range of apartments including suites with own balcony, to full floor to ceiling glazing; · Coin-operated launderette and public telephones on site.

For a small fee, visitors using the apartments have access to facilities on campus, including the Munrow Sports Centre, the Barber Institute of Fine Art and the University’s Botanic Gardens at Winterbourne in Edgbaston Park Road are all within easy reach, or you may just enjoy a leisurely stroll around one of Britain’s most beautifully landscaped universities.
