The UK Mountain Rescue Council, featuring SARDA (research and rescue dogs) will holds its conference between 12-15 September 2002 at Edinburgh Conference Centre. SARDA Southern Scotland is a non profit making, voluntary organisation to help Police and Mountain Rescue Teams search for missing people and can provide search dogs in the South of Scotland any time, 24hrs a day, 365 days a year.

The majority of the search dogs are Border Collies and German Shepherds, but there is now a significant proportion of Labradors, Retrievers and Cross Breeds. Many of the dogs were involved in searching for survivors in the recent disaster in America. The International Conference, the second of its kind, has been greatly assisted by lottery funding and is hoping to attract 500-600 people from the U.K and from all over the World.
