VENUE DESCRIPTION

The college is set on the banks of the River Cam in one of the most beautiful sites in this city. A combination of the traditional and of the modern, St John's is one of the largest of the university's residential colleges offering purpose built meeting facilities, ample parking, first class catering services and a dedicated team of staff in a central city location.

MEETING DESCRIPTION

The Fisher Building, a modern purpose built facility with 300 seat air conditioned lecture theatre, 5 seminar rooms, foyer area, fully equipped conference office and exhibition space. The School of Pythagoras 100 seat lecture theatre with foyer area.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

288 bedrooms which overlook the beautiful college grounds. The single or twin-bedded rooms all have tea and coffee making facilities and wash basin.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

Venues include The Buttery, a modern and informal self service restaurant. The magnificent 16th Century hall accommodating banquets for 300 or buffets for up to 500. The Parsons Room and Wordsworth Room provide facilities for intimate dinner parties and private functions. The newly refurbished and popular Buttery Bar is fully licensed.

LEISURE FACILITIES

The college has tennis and squash courts, a fitness centre, multi-gym and snooker room. For the more adventurous, college punts are available for hire from Easter to October.

DIRECTIONS

By Car: easy access from most major motorways. By Rail: There is an excellent service between Cambridge and London leaving from King's Cross and Liverpool Street stations. By Air: Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted all have good links to Cambridge. Stansted is only 25 miles south of Cambridge and is the most convenient international airport.
