VENUE DESCRIPTION

Based on a classic design, set in spacious and attractive gardens near the centre of Cambridge, Fitzwilliam College encapsulates a rare blend of history and innovation, living up to its heraldic motto of providing "the best of the old and the new". Fitzwilliam has car parking and is easily accessible from all major routes. With its specially designed meeting rooms and bedrooms, up to date business facilities and professional service, the college is a testament to its motto.

MEETING DESCRIPTION

Groups from 12 to 250 can choose from 15 different meeting rooms including a new modern 250 seat auditorium. The Wilson Court Conference Centre comprises a 57 seat auditorium with air conditioning, a plenary room and three seminar rooms with a common room for light refreshments. The well-being of delegates has been thoughfully assured with specially selected seating, abundant natural light, the best audio and visual aids and attention to important details.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

Residential accommodation is available for up to 350 people in traditional courtyard bedrooms overlooking peaceful, attractive gardens. There are four types of accommodation. Tree Court, our standard study bedrooms with wash basins. New Court, cleverly designed in clusters of four, sharing two toilets, a shower and a bath. Fellows' Court have recently been refurbished with the additions of an ensuite shower and wash basin. Wilson and Gatehouse Courts have luxury bedrooms and are fully en suite.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

Our striking College Hall is panelled in Colombian Pine and has solid ash chairs and stained oak tables. It is a splendid venue for larger, formal occasions. The Walter Grave Room is popular because of its size and elegance, seating up to 50 for a formal meal. A glance at our menus will tell that our cuisine is both imaginative and appetising. The College Bar provides an atmospheric setting for delegates to relax and unwind.

LEISURE FACILITIES

Leisure facilities for delegates include squash courts on site, with tennis courts and playing fields for such sporting activities like football, cricket and baseball off-site at the College's sports field situated in Oxford Road.

DIRECTIONS

Fitzwilliam College is located on Storey's Way and the Huntingdon Road and is approximately one mile North West of the city centre. Access by road from the North is via the A1 to Huntingdon, then A14 and A1307 into Cambridge (Huntingdon Road). If approaching from the East on the A14 take the B1049 exit towards Cambridge. At the end of Histon Road turn right and right again at the traffic lights into Huntingdon Road.
