VENUE DESCRIPTION

Centrally situated with excellent road, rail and air links, the University offers an excellent venue for one day events, business meetings and residential conferences. The central Atrium, a light and airy area with excellent parking nearby, is perfect for exhibitions, fairs, product launches, corporate events, conventions etc.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

The University's halls of residence offer bright, modern, purpose-built accommodation with on-site parking. They are convenient for the Kedleston Road campus and the city centre. Each hall offers a number of rooms for the disabled.

MEETING DESCRIPTION

There is a wide choice of well equipped and furnished rooms, all easily reached from the Atrium and the main entrance. For details of facilities at Buxton, please contact the Conference Office, as final details are not available at the time of going to press.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

We have a wide choice of menus to suit all requirements and budgets. We are always happy to discuss organisers' special requests.

DIRECTIONS

The Derby campus lies adjacent to the A38 to the north west of the city, with convenient connections to the M1, M6 (via A50), M42 etc. East Midlands airport is 11 miles away, and Derby railway station is 2 miles from the campus. The Buxton campus lies at the heart of this historic Spa town.

SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS

Peak District National Park with miles of stunning landscapes, and facilities for walking, biking, climbing, caving etc; stately homes such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey, Alton Towers; the Royal Crown Derby visitor centre.

OTHER INFORMATION

The University of Derby College Buxton campus becomes available in 2005. This project will completely refurbish the famous Royal Devonshire Building in Buxton, with many opportunities for conferences and events. The well-known spa will be re-opened and will be available to conference delegates. Please contact the Conference Office for the latest information on this exciting project.
