VENUE DESCRIPTION

With award-winning catering, over 300 meeting rooms and specialised audio-visual equipment, The University of Sheffield can comfortably accommodate residential and day conferences, exhibitions and special events. We offer all inclusive day-delegate packages and residential conference packages at our Halls of Residence - these include all the elements necessary for a succesful meeting.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

We are able to offer a choice of rooms for your event during vacation times. There is a choice of single en suite with a shower and toilet or standard single bedrooms with a washbasin and shared bathroom and shower facilities. En suite bedrooms are equipped with a direct-dial telephone and tea & coffee making facilities. Our self-catering flats are in the southwest of the city and each flat has approximately 4 - 9 single study bedrooms with a bathroom and a dining kitchen. The flats include bed linen, towels and basic catering equipment.

MEETING DESCRIPTION

With over 300 meeting rooms ranging from tiered lecture theatres to purpose built conference suites, the University provides enough flexibility to host a range of events from 10 to 1000 delegates.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

The award-winning team of chefs possess a wealth of experience in providing quality dining with innovative ideas and menus to cater for every taste and occasion; you can be confident you will receive first class service. In the last seven years Executive Chef, Tracy Carr, and her team have won the University Chefs Challenge gold medal on three occasions and silver in the remaining four.

LEISURE FACILITIES

The Goodwin Sports Centre includes an extensive floodlit artificial turf facility including hockey and football pitches, a 33-metre heated swimming pool, squash courts, a sports hall and an activity area for aerobics and martial arts. A multi-million pound expansion and modernisation of facilities in 2001-02 included a fitness centre incorporating over 130 cardiovascular and resistance stations plus the latest fitness assessment equipment and cardio theatre, an indoor bouldering wall, floodlit tennis courts and an additional synthetic multi-sport pitch.

DIRECTIONS

Sheffield is one of the most accessible venues in the country. It's only a few minutes from the M1 motorway and has direct rail links to London and other major cities. Sheffield airport is located just minutes from the city centre.

The largest venue, the Octagon Centre offers almost 900 sq.m. of unobstructed meeting space. This multi purpose venue hosts events as diverse as exhibitions, dinner dance celebrations and conferences seating up to 1250 delegates.
