VENUE DESCRIPTION

Specialising in hosting large residential events, ECC provides a "one stop shop" for all conference requirements. Set amidst beautiful parkland, ECC offers year round facilities for 10-620 delegates, exhibition space of 1000sqm, in-house banqueting, audio-visual services and the support of a professional event co-ordination team. ECC now offers 165 ensuite bed spaces year round, complimented by over 1000 student rooms in vacation time.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

ECC offers comfortable, cost competitive accommodation for groups and individuals throughout the year. These are 165 bedrooms available during term time, complemented by over 1000 en-suite and budget student rooms in vacation periods. Year round accommodation has a 2 star classification. Rooms are serviced daily and all year round rooms have ensuite shower and toilet, television, telephone and tea/coffee facilities.

MEETING DESCRIPTION

The choice of facilities includes 12 meeting rooms, four lecture theatres to the James Watt Centre a superb purpose built conference and exhibition venue . This faciltity accommodates a 620-seat auditorium with adjacent seminar rooms. This self contained venue combines flexible meeting space with a dedicated exhibition hall of over 1000m2. With the aid of a state of the art stage set and lighting this hall can be transformed into a glamorus and stylish venue for caberet style events, conferences and award dinners.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

The Microbyte has a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, traditional main meals are available in the Mezzanine Dining Room, whilst Scholars Café Bar and Bistro offers contemporary cuisine in peaceful and relaxed surroundings. The Lecturn is the University's own Victorian style bar, serving a full range of wines, beer and spirits and a choice of hot and cold bar meals and sandwiches. ECC has a choice of function suites and dining styles to complement any occasion.

LEISURE FACILITIES

ECC has much to offer its guest during their stay including a general store, bank, medical centre and hairdressers. Visitors can explore one of the campus trails or just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the magnificent sunken gardens. The centre for Sport and Exercise provides an alternative for the more energetic visitor. Facilities available include gymnasium, multi-gym, cardiovascular suite, climbing wall, squash and tennis courts, jogging circuit, football and rugby pitches.

DIRECTIONS

Situated just 6 miles west of the city centre, ECC is just ½ mile west of the Calder junction exit from the A720 city bypass, The bypass connects with the A8/M8 and M9 (west and central Scotland). A1 (east and south) and the A7 and A68 (Borders and south).Edinburgh International Airport is just 3 miles from the campus. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes by taxi. There is ample free parking.
