VENUE DESCRIPTION

The University has three sites offering a wide range of excellent conference facilities and seasonal accommodation. New deHavilland campus offers 1600 en-suite bedrooms. The Fielder Centre, a year round non-residential venue has a conference hall for 200+. The original campus provides group accommodation in student facilities. Located at junc 3 or 4 of A1M in Hatfield. 25 minutes to London’s Kings Cross. Luton and Stansted airports 20/40 minutes.

BEDROOM DESCRIPTION

At Easter and June-September new deHavilland campus has 1600 en suite student bedrooms organised into stylish flats for 8-12. Each light and airy bedroom is equipped with en suite facility, hospitality tray, mini refrigerator and Internet connections. Flats have a communal kitchen/common room. The campus is compact with auditorium at the heart, and accommodation and residences opposite - no long walks or lost conference delegates!

MEETING DESCRIPTION

New in 2003 compact de Havilland campus with 500 seat performance auditorium, 4 lecture theatres for 120-240, 50+ seminar rooms and Refectory for 450. Contemporary Fielder Centre dedicated to non residential conferences, open year round. Conference room for 230, 6 seminar rooms for 12-70, free car park for 200. Dedicated catering facilities.

RESTAURANT / BAR DESCRIPTION

de Havilland Refectory caters for 450 with a variety of services from early to late including breakfasts, buffets, 2 course casual or 3 course formal silver service meals. There is a Sports Café with bistro fare and bar plus a fresh packed sandwich outlet on campus. A shop selling all the essentials is adjacent to Residences. The Fielder Conference Centre is very versatile hosting whatever fits the event and the client’s budget from business breakfasts, lunches, conference dinners and cocktail receptions

LEISURE FACILITIES

There are superb leisure facilities on the new campus. The deHavilland Sports Village offers 25 ft indoor pool with spectator seating for 250, 12 court main hall for badminton/basketball/volleyball has sprung wooden floor and seating for 500 spectators, health and fitness suite with 100 stations, aerobics studio, squash/racquetball courts, cricket hall and climbing wall. Outdoors there are two artificial turf soccer pitches and a hockey pitch plus three grass soccer pitch and a grass rugby pitch. Changing pavilion adjacent to the pitches.

DIRECTIONS

Exit junction 3 or 4 of A1M in Hatfield. Both sites within easy access of M1 and M25 and A414.

Historic homes nearby: Hatfield House, Knebworth. Roman ruins and Verulam museum in St Albans (Verulamium was the largest Roman settlement outside of Londinium). 25 minutes by train from delights of London. Oxford/Cambridge nearby
